Rama Yade meets her commitments towards the fight against homophobia in sports. Alain Cayzac, former Chairman of Paris Saint-Germain, and now Honorary Chairman of PFG, met with representatives from FFF (French Football Federation), FFR (French Rugby Federation) and FFT (French Tennis Federation) at the Sport Ministry.
A press conference followed the meeting to explain the action plan of the Ministry.
This ambitious plan includes:
- the creation of a document to raise all sports teachers' awareness to the fight against homophobia.
- the signing of a convention
- an investigation on the reality of homophobia in sport, with results by the end of the year
- the campaign of SOS Homophobie to promote its anonymous helpline in sports
- the organization in Paris of FARE (Football Against Racism in Europe) upcoming meeting, which fights against discrimination and exclusion.
- the incitement to sign a charter against homophobia in sports for all Federations to offer concrete commitments.
PFG is thrilled of such an action plan.
The action started at the Supporters Congress last January has been fruitful.
Rama Yade has accepted to organize in Paris the third conference of FARE for LGBT European Associations (some of them have great difficulties in their country)
Other matters still on hold have moved forward during this meeting, e.g. the presence of Mr. Duchaussoy from FFF and the meeting planned in June to sort out the problem of FC Choose, the integration of disciplinary scales, the education and the signing of the charter against homophobia.
